Another great master of the Romantic repertoire is Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. He was a child prodigy who left behind an enormous body of work. His symphonic compositions are world-famous, but he also wrote many masterpieces in the field of chamber music. In this program, the monumental Second String Quintet has been chosen, preceded by a selection from his Lieder ohne Worte and the dramatic Second Piano Trio.
