Manuel de Falla (1876–1946) is one of the most influential Spanish composers of the twentieth century and a key figure in connecting classical music with the rich traditions of Spanish folk culture. In his music, fiery rhythms, Andalusian melodies, and impressionistic tone colors blend into a unique and immediately recognizable style. This program includes, among others, de Falla’s famous suite from the ballet El amor brujo as well as works by Granados and Turina.
