Annet Verboom
Annet Verboom began playing the violin at the age of eight. After taking violin lessons at the music school in Elburg, she was admitted to the Young Talent class at the Conservatory of Zwolle, where she studied with Els Krieg. She completed her bachelor’s degree with Benzion Shamir at the Conservatory of Rotterdam and subsequently refined her playing in the master’s program with the same teacher.
Since December 2016, Annet has been principal second violin of the Noord Nederlands Orkest. Over the years, she has developed a great passion for orchestral performance. In addition to her position with the NNO, she regularly performs as a substitute with various orchestras, including the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, and Phion.
She is also an enthusiastic and dedicated chamber musician. For several years, she was the primarius of the Canto Quartet, and she is currently a member of Duo Castalia, Due Donne, and the Motus String Quartet.
