Jents Abma

Jents Abma (2005) is a third-year oboe student at the Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen. She is currently studying with Hilje van der Vliet. She began playing at the age of 10 and studied oboe with Nynke Jaarsma and later with Pauline Oostenrijk. Jents also took lessons for three years at the Ferwerda Academy in Drachten, followed by two years in Frans Douwe Slot's talent class.

Jents has played in several orchestras and ensembles, including the Dutch Youth Orchestra, JongNBENoord, the Frisian Youth Orchestra, the Netherlands Student Chamber Orchestra, and Bragi Groningen. She currently plays with the Vuurvogel Sinfonietta in Zwolle and regularly performs with various orchestras. Jents has also participated in the Princess Christina Competition several times, reaching the regional finals in 2020 and 2024, winning 2nd and 3rd prizes. This has allowed her, among other things, to give a concert at the Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam.
