Eva van der Sterren

"An eccentric free spirit"—that’s how violinist Eva van der Sterren prefers to describe herself. And anyone who has seen her on stage instantly understands why. Her extroverted, radiant stage presence never fails to captivate. As an improviser, Van der Sterren blends a wide range of influences. The sentiment of her native Poland, for example, with her love of hard rock. But also the fiery Spanish temperament that has become part of her character finds its voice in this eclectic mix.

In 2021, Van der Sterren achieved major success at the Princess Christina Jazz Competition, where she won the second jury prize, the audience award, and the Mees Pierson Award. In 2025, she took second place at the Dutch Violin Competition's Young Makers Prize. That same year, she also won Oeteldonk Heet Telènt with a solo performance.

With her unique style, boundless energy, and passion for experimentation, Van der Sterren never ceases to surprise and captivate her audience. Her playing touches, provokes, and transcends genres—a musical experience not to be missed.
