Tim Brackman
Violist Tim Brackman is co-founder and artistic director of Podium Eibergen. He is the violist of the Brackman Trio and the Animato Kwartet, and performs in a duo with (viola) violinist Floor Le Coultre.
In 2018, Tim won third prize at the Nederlands Vioolconcours Oskar Back, as well as the NTR Prize for Best Performance of the commissioned work Aeriko by Calliope Tsoupaki.
Chamber music has taken Tim to festivals such as the Stiftfestival, Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, the Verbier Festival, and the Internationaal Kamermuziek Festival Utrecht, where he was Young Artist in Residence in 2020. He also regularly gives masterclasses to young talented musicians, including at the Davidsbündler Music Academy in The Hague and in Cividale del Friuli, Italy.
Tim studied with Ilona Sie Dhian Ho, Eszter Haffner (Copenhagen), and Vera Beths, with whom he graduated in 2018 from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag. In 2019–2020, he pursued a postgraduate program with Pavel Vernikov (Bergamo). He has taken masterclasses with, among others, Peter Brunt, Ivry Gitlis, and Hatto Beyerle.
Tim plays a Cuypers violin from 1797. The purchase of his bow (A. Vigneron) was made possible in part by the Stichting Eigen Muziekinstrument.
