Ruña ’t Hart

The versatile violinist Ruña ’t Hart (1992) makes a strong impression through her qualities as a soloist and as a passionate advocate of chamber music. Her musical interests cover a wide range, from Baroque to contemporary music. In December 2016, she received the prestigious violin scholarship of the Kersjes Fonds at the Concertgebouw, an important award presented annually to a young violin talent in the Netherlands. In its jury report, the Kersjes Fonds praised Ruña’s “glowing, intense playing with a personal story” and described her as “a (growing) diamond that radiates from within and shines musically.”

Ruña began playing the violin at the age of two. From the age of ten, she studied with the renowned violin teacher Coosje Wijzenbeek, and a year later she was admitted to the School for Young Talent of the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague. In 2011, Ruña began her studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Vera Beths. She obtained her master’s degree cum laude in September 2018. During her studies, she also took lessons with Shunske Sato, on both modern and Baroque violin.
