Kalle de Bie (1994) began playing the cello when he was six years old. From 2008, he studied at the Conservatorium of Amsterdam with Jeroen den Herder, Jelena Očić, and Dmitri Ferschtman. Kalle completed his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with the renowned cello pedagogue Reinhard Latzko.
In October 2016, during the National Cello Competition in Amsterdam, Kalle was awarded the Start-in-Splendor Prize, which included an evening carte blanche at Splendor Amsterdam. He created a musical and visual journey through the surreal world of the French composer Henri Dutilleux. Earlier, Kalle also worked on other projects involving film, poetry, and dance. He is a member of the Brackman Trio and the Marigold Piano Quartet. In addition, Kalle performs with the collective Pynarello.
