Astrid Boekel

Astrid Boekel (1994) is a multi-faceted classical saxophone player. She studied saxophone at the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen with Femke IJlstra. She continues her master studies at the Prince Claus Conservatoire. 

Astrid plays the tenor saxophone in the VLAM Saxophone Quartet, a dynamic quartet which aims for a large and varied audience. The quartet preformed at festivals such as the Grachtenfestival, Friejamm and Down The Rabbit Hole. Astrid has also followed an internship at the KMK-JWF. Besides that she is active as a workshop leader with vulnerable seniors in nursing homes.
