Veerle Schütz has been an advocate of modern music since the beginning of her career. She was solist at the Dutch and Italian premiere of Peteris Vasks Vox Amoris, was awarded the prize for best interpretation of a modern work at the Prinses Christina Concours, and worked with Theo Loevendie, Joseph Puglia, Helmut Oehring, Jacob ter Veldhuis and Reinbert de Leeuw. She also performed as cocnert master with the revision of Gerard Ammerlaans Werkman Opera and Nanne van der Werffs Requim Athee.

Other (world) premieres she performed are works by Karl Jenkins, Jochem Slothouwer, Paul Carr, Klaas de Vries, Arnold Veerman, Dan Forrest and Stale Keinberg.

Veerle is active in various ensembles both in classical music and pop music. With these ensembles and orchestras she toured in The Netherlands, Sweden, Latvia, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Spain, Germany and France. As solist she performed orchestral repertoire by Vasks, Schubert, Mendelssohn, De Sarasate, Vivaldi and Bach. She studied with Ilona Sie Dhian Ho and Chris Duindam at the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen.
